Production Artist

With that being said… Hi, we are Phelps, an integrated marketing communications agency located alongside the Santa Monica coastline. We are an agency who works across all channels for our blue chip clientele. The campaigns we work on span across PR, creative, media planning, brand strategy, video production, digital production and others.

We’re looking to grow our team and hire a Production Artist that can help us with both digital and print production projects on a full time basis. This person will improve the deliverables and make them impeccable. He or She will be responsible for working across all teams and ensure that every asset is proofed and stored according to internal guidelines.

Here are the specifics:
• Acute attention to detail is an absolute must
• The ideal candidate will have experience working across multiple client teams to improve, proof, and deliver all digital and print assets.
• Prior experience with delivering final assets to internal teams, clients and vendors is necessary
• At least 2-3 years of experience in a Production Artist role within an advertising/marketing agency
• Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator is an absolute must
• Thorough understanding of web intricacies of the web and how they can affect functionality

Phelps, an integrated marketing communications agency in Santa Monica, is looking to hire a Technical Project Manager to lead our largest, highly intricate and most challenging projects.

Specific must-haves:
• At least 5 - 7 years of experience with managing the development of enterprise-level web-based projects and applications, of an advanced technical nature.
• Candidate must be able to provide graphic and granular detail about their experiences with such projects
• Working knowledge of development processes and techniques, especially as related to front end development (HTML5, CSS3, responsive design and frameworks, JS/JQuery, Flash), C#/.NET, MVC framework, and both PHP and .NET-based Content Management Systems
• Experience in creating web application that utilize web service calls and APIs
• A heightened understanding and level of experience with online security processes and protocols
• The ability to create detailed documentation including business requirements, functionality specification, software requirements specification, information architecture, QA scripts and test plan, and scopes of work
• Expert knowledge of project management software (including but not limited to JIRA, MS Project, Omniplan, Basecamp, Teamwork PM, MS Excel, bug tracking platforms, etc)
• Expert-level knowledge of analytics platforms including Google Analytics and Adobe Site Catalyst, as well as the ability to create and understand analytic solution design documentation

This role will be responsible for managing the build of an enterprise level application that will interact with all departments of our client's business, as well as 3rd party system and data. Having experience with situations that closely resemble this scenario is a critical requirement

On a day to day basis this person will:
• Monitor all technical resources, both internal and external, engaged in the project directly and indirectly, especially on matters of scope, effort, technical specifications, progress, and deliverables.
• Provide day-to-day communications regarding development status with programming team, plus weekly updates on schedules, resources, risks, and issues to the Program Manager and Core Team.
• Identify and manage development (and future deployment) against key technical milestones, project dependencies and project resources
• Identify and escalate potential issues, developing mitigation options and executing selected resolutions
• Establish and maintain communication with each technical resource group (including the front/back-end developers, user experience specialists, creative team, QA Manager and testing team), and be aware of each group’s project-related responsibilities.
• Provide continuous technical support as directed by the Program Manager to assist in ensuring the project’s timely success.
• Vet/validate the project’s technical direction, progress estimations, and systems interaction expectations of all network/internet performance and data structure/coordination as appropriate.
• Provide technical oversight to and information on all technology-related tasks.
• Contribute to/review test plans, use cases, and software requirements specification documents to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Marketing Data Analyst

You have the ability to take raw data and translate it into business insight, and create strategy from it. You can dive into the intricacies of a website’s analytics in the morning, look at the data from digital marketing campaigns during lunch and conduct A/B testing in the afternoon.

We are looking for someone to join us with the following experience:
• Is highly analytical and driven by finding key insights by data mining large and complex data sets
• Is able to work closely with our client-based teams and help them define key metrics, by identifying trends and opportunities across various types of media such as email marketing, direct mail campaigns and web
• Able to synthesize data from various sources and deliver actionable insights based on both qualitative and quantitative sources
• Assist and build requirements, definition, project scoping, timeline management, and results documentation to ensure great practice
• Predict and understand customer patterns through metric and statistical analysis

Search Engine Optimization Specialist
Hi. We’re Phelps, an integrated marketing communications agency in Santa Monica, CA.

We’re seeking an experienced Search Engine Optimization Specialist

The person we hire for this role will be responsible for all aspects of optimizing our client’s interactive efforts for optimal search engine performance. The role encompasses aspects of strategy, content creation, and interactive development.

Plainly said, we’re looking for an SEO rock star.

As part of consideration for this role you must be willing to share case studies and results from past accounts and projects. Innovation and creativity are just as important to us as methodology and project lifecycle, so please keep that in mind.

Candidate should be prepared to speak to and provide examples of:
- Research techniques in staying on top of market trends
- SEO copywriting
- SEO architecture audits
- Strategies and techniques for identifying SEO opportunities, recommendations, and implementations
- Thorough understanding of interactive development best practices relating to SEO; and ability to work with a dev team in the implementation of SEO updates
- Understanding of the relationship between paid and organic search strategies and the ability to optimize the cross-channel mix

Responsibilities and Skill Set
- Oversight and management of onsite and offsite SEO resources
- Provide technical guidance and specification during the development of web sites and other online projects, in accordance with SEO best practices, for both client sites and in an advisory capacity agency-wide
- Staying abreast of (and sharing) changes and algorithm updates in the search industry
- Reporting to clients and upper management on KPI's and web analytics

- Thorough technical know-how and understanding of SEO coding best practices and implementation as it relates to web site development
